In April of 2016, we enjoyed a mindfulness wellness journey at the beautiful, natural SamaSati Retreat & Rainforest Sanctuary in Costa Rica. We lived in ecofriendly casitas in the thick of the jungle where flora and wildlife were bountiful. Our intention was to create an experience where participants could unplug, let go of stress and engage in contemplative practices. Amidst the lush rainforest, we were immersed in a daily program of healthy living. Each day began with guided meditation, followed by walking or hiking the trails on site or in the area. In the late afternoon we engaged in yoga and in the evening after dinner, conscious conversations about being well, awareness, change, growth and transformation.
We dined on fresh, natural Costa Rican cuisine three times a day, where the chefs truly prepared and cooked meals with love. Staff were friendly, accommodating and heart centered. And, during our free time, we indulged in massage, rested on our individual hammocks, relaxed and swam in the Caribbean Sea, kayaked, visited the Chocolate Factory and the Wildlife Rescue Facility.
